Shift Pattern: Afternoon shift | 3:00pm - 11:00pm Contract: Permanent The role A well-established food manufacturing operation in Haverhill is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and stabilise afternoon-shift operations. This role carries full accountability for shift performance, people leadership, and operational execution. You will manage production flow, build strong supervisory capability, and ensure safety, quality, and service standards are consistently met during the afternoon shift. Key responsibilities Lead and manage production teams across the 3pm-11pm afternoon shift Own shift performance against KPIs including output, labour efficiency, waste, and service Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, GMP, and health & safety standards Coach and develop Supervisors and Team Leaders to strengthen day-to-day execution Drive consistency, accountability, and engagement across the shift Work closely with Planning, Engineering, and Technical to minimise disruption and downtime Support continuous improvement initiatives and embed a right-first-time culture What we're looking for Proven experience as a Production Manager (or strong Operations / Shift Manager) within food manufacturing or FMCG Strong people leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels Experience managing performance in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Clear understanding of production planning, labour control, and food safety systems Comfortable working a fixed afternoon shift (3pm-11pm) What's on offer Permanent role within a stable food manufacturing business Fixed afternoon shift providing structure and routine Opportunity to make a visible impact on team capability and shift performance Supportive leadership environment with clear operational expectations
