To carry out development management functions of the council as Highway Authority and initiate, plan and implement traffic and transportation proposals to control the impact of development on the highway network and ensure the safety of road users.

To provide technical engineering input during the implementation of third party highway works, through the approval of site inspections, contractors, materials and traffic management to ensure effective designs are agreed and implemented in order to minimise the Council’s future maintenance.
The applicant must have a general understanding of Planning and Development Control processes and a clear understanding of s/s agreements to enable them to work with developers on sites to ensure works are undertaken to acceptable standards.
