Job overview
The role is integral to ensuring the Women's Health service listens to service users and uses their feedback to inform and drive delivery of safe, high-quality clinical care. The post holder will be a key member of the clinical governance team. They will coordinate the service's response to complaints and PALS, providing oversight, interacting with service users, and supporting staff responses. The role requires development of strong working relationships with the Patient Experience Team, the MDT, cross-divisional Safety and Quality teams, and the Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) to ensure that patient experience is integrated within the services improvement plan and reported within clinical governance frameworks.
Main duties of the job
* Integrate the views and experiences of women/persons and families in a variety of ways, embedding this within the maternity and gynaecology service's governance structure and processes.
* Coordinate the contact and response with women/persons for complaints and the patient experience team, and assist with Patient Safety Investigations where required.
* Deliver key initiatives to ensure that women/persons and their families can make their voice heard and influence change and future direction of the maternity and gynaecology service via surveys, Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) and other forms of direct engagement such as facilitating ‘Whose Shoes’ events.
* The post holder will be required to ensure that any change or lessons learned are appropriately escalated and discussed with those providing the maternity and gynaecology service to enable learning to take place.
* The post holder will be the designated lead responsible for digesting, disseminating, and collaboratively working with the MNVP to produce a comprehensive action plan in response to the annual Maternity Care Quality Commission (CQC) Women's Experience Survey.
