Job overview Development Opportunity: Are you an experienced clinician with a passion for leadership and service development? Do you want to shape high-quality care for individuals affected by substance misuse? We are seeking a Clinical Lead to provide expert leadership and clinical oversight within our Drug and Alcohol Services across Staffordshire. This pivotal role ensures safe, effective, and evidence-based care for clients with complex needs, including those prescribed opioid substitution therapy (OST). Advert What You’ll Do Provide clinical leadership and oversight across the service. Ensure compliance with NICE guidance, national standards, and local protocols. Support prescribers and multidisciplinary teams in managing complex cases. Lead on safeguarding, risk management, and clinical audits. Drive service improvement initiatives and contribute to strategic planning. Working closely with the senior leadership team and multi-agency partners to achieve outstanding outcomes. Offer supervision and mentorship to clinical and non-clinical staff. What We’re Looking For Registered professional (NMC, HCPC, or equivalent) with relevant clinical experience. Strong understanding of substance misuse treatment, harm reduction, and recovery models. Proven leadership skills and experience in clinical governance. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Ability to manage risk and lead service development initiatives. Detailed job description and main responsibilities Please see job description for full list of responsibilities, including: Responsibility for the operational and clinical management of community services. Lead on recruitment, selection and interviewing of clinical staff. To be responsible for the development of effective clinical provision and lead on team building. Provide formal, on-going clinical supervision and caseload management supervision. Attend Inclusion meetings when requested Lead on clinical interventions and work within financial budgets. Oversee the incidents and SI reporting in the services and to ensure investigations are carried out in a timely manner Work alongside the Head of Quality and Performance for Inclusion in ensuring lessons are learnt and shared across Inclusion Work within Inclusions Clinical Governance and operational framework ensuring compliance with the clinical strategy, SOPs and structures. Carry out appraisals (Individual Performance Review) Participate in the formulation and implementation of protocols and procedures for the delivery of any new integrated services. Responsible for ensuring audits are done within the Inclusion Audit framework Ensure systems are in place to respond promptly, appropriately and in an open manner to complaints and queries The ability to work flexibly across the county to meet the needs to the service.
