Job Description - This role is for a Temporary Summer Supervisor.
Salary: You will be paid an hourly rate in line with the Living Wage Foundation’s rates. Each month, you have the opportunity to achieve a bonus based on sales growth targets set by your manager. Exceeding these targets will result in additional bonuses for you and your team!
Location: You will primarily work in one shop, with occasional travel to other stores or for training sessions, meetings, or events, which might involve overnight stays. Working from home is not permitted.
Hours: Your weekly hours will be set by your manager based on business needs and your availability. Any significant changes may result in adjustments to your contract hours. Shifts will be scheduled in coordination with the store manager, considering business demands and peak trading periods. Extra shifts, when available, will be shared fairly among the team throughout the year.
The Shop Floor
As a Supervisor, you'll create a welcoming and vibrant shop floor. Your primary responsibility is to lead, inspire, and support the sales team to deliver outstanding service, ensuring every visitor leaves satisfied and with suitable products.
Encourage and motivate sales assistants, provide regular feedback and coaching, and conduct ongoing training to improve their product knowledge and sales skills.
Greet customers warmly, engage with open-ended questions, listen carefully, and provide personalized recommendations. Facilitate effective product demonstrations, create an inclusive environment, and maintain rapport with regular customers.
Maintain a clean, tidy, and visually appealing shop, assist with stock management, and handle customer inquiries professionally. Review team performance and customer feedback, set performance goals, and conduct team meetings to foster collaboration.
Supporting and Growing the Business
You will help drive sales and exceed targets by motivating the team, running in-store events, and maintaining an active online presence. In the absence of the Store Manager or Trainee Manager, you will lead the store to ensure sales and operations run smoothly.
You will communicate financial goals, identify opportunities for profitability, and support stock management by adjusting stock levels based on sales trends.
Your Team
Maintain open communication, support recruitment, training, and development, and ensure a safe work environment by following health and safety procedures.
Leadership
Lead by example on the shop floor, support the store manager in setting goals, and help develop the management team through coaching and training. Foster a strong, collaborative team environment.
Your Development
Contribute ideas for enhancing the customer experience, participate in training, and seek opportunities for personal growth. Engage with other managers and supervisors within the community to share knowledge and best practices.
