Our client is one of the world's largest and fastest-growing TV streaming service businesses and they're looking to launch their product in the UK during the Summer of 2024.
As the General manager/Country Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business in London. This will include management of the local team, coordination and integration into the broader global group, and an active role across content acquisition, programming, revenue partnerships, marketing and oversight of the territory’s P&L.
They are launching in the UK in July, and this role will be instrumental in establishing the team and building the operating model for the service to grow into the leading AVOD platform in-market. The business have very ambitious expectations for performance in the UK market, and this role is perfect for someone looking for a massive new challenge at a business with the resources of a global media company and the operating freedom of a growth-stage scale up.
Responsibilities
* Strategic planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy in the UK, aligning with global objectives and adapting to local market trends
* Content acquisition: Work with the Content team to acquire and curate a diverse library of movies, TV shows, and other entertainment content that appeals to the UK audience and sets the business apart from it’s competitors
* Content programming: Provide input to help define programming direction and editorial guidance on the content library and experience offered to their UK users
* Marketing and promotion: Partner closely with the Marketing group to oversee marketing and promotional campaigns to build brand awareness and drive user engagement on the UK service
* Revenue partnerships: Lead the relationship with their revenue partners in the UK and identify new opportunities to expand our commercial footprint in the UK over time
* Team leadership: Build and manage a high-performing team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
* Product experience: Partner with the Product Management team to help identify and develop areas of innovation and opportunity, both using the businesses existing platform, and offering input and insights for UK-specific features and functionality
* Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance for the UK market
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, media, or a related field
* Proven experience in a senior management role, preferably in the media or entertainment industry
* Strong understanding of the UK media landscape
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
* Analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
* Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
In return you'll receive a strong base salary in region of £150,000 - 200,000 plus bonus and package.
