Paint Shop Supervisor Job Description
We are recruiting for a Paint Shop Supervisor to join our busy Paint Shop. The successful candidate will manage the Paint Shop facility to ensure a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
1. Service Delivery: Supervise daily operations of the paint shop team, providing guidance on all paint shop activities including blasting, prepping, painting, and repairs. Coach and mentor staff, estimate production times and costs, and evaluate manufacturing methods to improve efficiency while maintaining safety and quality standards. Plan workspace utilization, conduct quality checks, and liaise with management to coordinate production schedules. Monitor performance and record times to establish standard rates, streamline purchasing, and reduce costs.
2. Performance Improvement: Apply the company’s performance management system, support staff development, and ensure high standards of performance and professionalism.
3. Financial and Resource Management: Contribute to the financial health of the company by optimizing shop operations, reducing costs, and seeking innovative solutions for service improvements.
4. People Management: Provide leadership, foster teamwork, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Conduct staff performance reviews, support personal development, and participate in recruitment and disciplinary procedures.
5. General Management: Promote equality, diversity, and safety in accordance with company policies. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and perform other duties as required.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience: Degree-level qualification with 2-3 years supervisory experience in a similar industry; hands-on painting experience with heavy machinery. Desirable: management of a Paint Shop, management/leadership qualification.
Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership, effective communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, organizational abilities, computer proficiency, and flexibility to work hours as needed.
