Assistant Accountant / Accounts Assistant
Location: Preston
Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm)
Salary: Competitive + Study Support (AAT optional)
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing and ambitious business in Preston. Following a period of rapid expansion, the finance team is seeking an additional team member to support day-to-day operations and play a key role in ensuring the continued smooth operation of the accounts function.

Key Responsibilities:
Processing purchase invoices and reconciling supplier statements
Dealing with supplier queries in a professional and timely manner
Supporting weekly and monthly payment runs
Bank reconciliations and allocating payments to customer accounts
Raising sales invoices and credit notes where required
Chasing overdue accounts and maintaining strong credit control
Working with Xero on a daily basis
General accounts administration and ad hoc support across the finance team
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience in an accounts/finance role
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
Good communication skills and a team player attitude
Experience with Xero is desirable but not essential
