About the role
The SocBond project is an ERC funded research project which explores the neuroscience of friendship. This postdoc will be a core member of the research team, leading studies of affiliation and social bonding in large and small groups of young adults. The project is hosted by the Hamilton lab in the UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, in collaboration with Jamie Ward at Computing, Goldsmiths.
About you
The postholder will lead research into human social affiliation as a core member of the SocBond team. S/he will design, implement and analyse novel scientific studies of how and why people make friends. These studies will make use of innovative methods including fNIRS, wearable sensors and behavioural tasks. There is scope for the postholder to develop this research in new directions and to build collaborations beyond UCL as well.
