Overview
The Environment Agency invites applications for a Commercial Services Manager who will support the Commercial Assurance and Framework Management team. The role focuses on commercial governance of contracts with consultancies and contractors, delivering value for money and supporting the successful delivery of projects.
Responsibilities
 * Oversee the commercial governance of key contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are met and value is maximised.
 * Develop and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and foster long‑term collaborative partnership arrangements.
 * Provide country‑wide support to Integrated Delivery Management teams and the wider Project Management community.
 * Actively participate in incident response duties and undertake required training.
 * Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
 * A‑Level, Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
 * Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
 * Stakeholder management experience.
 * Competent in data collection, analysis and document management.
 * Commercial acumen – ability to analyse business situations and deliver cost‑effective solutions.
 * Administration skills – organisation, minute‑taking and report drafting.
 * Willingness to pursue professional development such as NEC training or CIPS.
 * Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
Desired Experience & Professional Development
 * Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
 * Progressing professional status with a recognised body (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS, RICS).
 * Formal training in contract management (e.g., NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
Working Arrangements
Hybrid working is available. Some travel and occasional overnight stays may be required.
