Description
Contribute to excellence in teaching and learning through innovative practices. Create effective learning opportunities for students via high-quality teaching, assessment, and learning activities.
Deliver teaching across all levels from Level 2 to L5, including evening programs, with a focus on current industry/practitioner skills. Specializations may include mechanical engineering, manufacturing, design engineering, or related construction fields such as civil engineering or quantity surveying.
Teach a range of professional engineering and construction units, possessing skills in theory, practical assessment, and curriculum promotion. Foster stimulating educational experiences that promote student progression and development.

Key Responsibilities
1. Contribute to the College's mission and values, ensuring their implementation across all activities.
2. Engage in curriculum planning, development, and review, staying updated on national developments.
3. Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons, employing effective teaching techniques.
4. Create a motivating learning environment that promotes safety, confidence, and respect.
5. Manage student behavior and communication effectively.
6. Assess and record student work, monitor progress and attendance.
7. Implement external and internal assessment procedures.
8. Engage in professional development and contribute to curriculum design and administration.
9. Collaborate with colleagues to address English and Maths skills development.
10. Communicate with parents, carers, and students through various college events.
11. Ensure compliance with College policies and provide enriching experiences for students.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential Criteria
* Relevant degree in the subject area.
* Vocational experience in Civil Engineering.
* Experience in teaching and assessing professional construction courses.
* A recognized teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.
* Knowledge of professional construction education.
* Curriculum planning, development, and delivery experience.
* Proficiency in computer literacy.
* Active engagement in CPD.
* Level 3 literacy and numeracy or willingness to complete.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Familiarity with BIM/Revit.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience with resource-based learning.
* Membership in relevant professional bodies.
* Experience in assessing student needs and curriculum planning, including Technology Enhanced Learning.
* Understanding of curriculum development for employer training needs.
* Knowledge of quality assurance processes.
