We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to be one of the first to join our team at HMP Millsike, a Category C men's prison, located in Full Sutton near York.
HMP Millsike is a newly built prison with an operational capacity of 1500 places. As part of the government's drive to cut reoffending, prisoners spend their sentences learning the skills they need to find work on release.
You will be part of a new Pharmacy Team, including Pharmacists, a Pharmacy Manager and Accuracy Checking Technicians.
Hours: Monday - Friday 6.45am - 7.15pm; Saturday - Sunday 8.00am - 5.45pm
Salary
Youll receive a bank hourly rate of £21.76 (weekdays) and £23.61 (weekends).
Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job
As a Bank Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, maintaining a high level of security at all times.
* Hold direct patient contact as part of a comprehensive healthcare package based on the prison service's needs.
* Share information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines management, drug regimes, and medicines.
* Be a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Requirements
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Up to date with Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
* Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
* Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.

Job responsibilities
As a GPHC registered pharmacy technician with Practice Plus Group you will become an integral member of the pharmacy team, as well as a valued member of the multidisciplinary clinical healthcare team.
You will:
Provide outstanding, patient-centred care to our patients by listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
Focusing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. This includes the timely administration of medicines and analysing cost-effective prescribing as defined through our health in justice medicines policy. You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Inspire excellence by forging strong links within our teams, our partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within and feel proud of.
