Our Client


This UK-based business has over 40 years of experience supplying the automotive, repair, and maintenance industries. Operating from a purpose-built facility in Leeds, it stocks an extensive range of product lines. With a focus on consumables such as fasteners, electrical components, air-line systems, and clips, the company is ISO 9001 accredited and committed to delivering high-quality, reliable products to a wide network of industry customers.


The Role


This role will focus on driving both existing customer relationships and new business development, with a 50/50 split between account management and new customer acquisition. Reporting directly to the Directors, the successful candidate will lead and develop a team of National Sales Managers and work closely with the Sales Office Manager.


The role will play a key part in delivering commercial targets, expanding market share, and embedding a high-performance, customer-focused sales culture across the business.


This position would suit either an experienced Head of Sales or a high-performing sales leader who is ready to take the next step into a more senior, strategic role.


The Ideal Candidate


The ideal candidate will be a driven and commercially minded sales professional with strong experience in field-based sales and business development, ideally within the automotive, MRO, or industrial consumables sectors.


They may already be operating at Head of Sales level, or they may be a Sales Manager, National Account Manager, or Team Leader with demonstrable experience of leading people, influencing strategy, and driving performance who is now ready to progress into a broader leadership role.


You will bring:

* Proven success in developing key accounts and winning new business
* Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring sales teams
* The ability to contribute to sales strategy and translate it into clear actions
* Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage at all levels of a customer organisation
* A structured, customer-centric approach with strong commercial awareness


Experience managing managers and full P&L responsibility is advantageous but not essential; the business is open to supporting the right individual as they step up into a Head of Sales role.
