The historic St Bartholomew’s site of Barts Health is offering an exciting opportunity to join the Barts Heart Centre as a Patient Pathway Co-ordinator / Secretary for the Intervention & EP Teams. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual the carry out secretarial tasks for specific consultants / Registrars with the unit. This individual will also front validate patients pathways from clinic. Tasks will also include all clinic letters are typed and sent out with a 5 days turnaround from clinic and also ensuring that relevant tests have been requested and undertaken so that patients can be treated within 18 weeks of referral.
This individual will be working closely with other admin teams within the service (scheduling, outpatients and inpatient admin teams), also clinical teams in the area and beyond.
The post holder will be required to work as a team and take leadership from their Line Manager and Deputy Delivery Manager.
The post holder is required to assist in the implementation of processes and improvements within the service. Ensuring that service requirements are met and national targets are adhered to.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. GCSE A Level or equivalent standard of education
Experience
Essential criteria
2. demonstrable or substantial experience successfully working in a relevant administrative and or medical secretarial role
Knowledge
Essential criteria
3. A good level of medical terminology acquired through education, training or work experience
4. ECDL or equivalent experience ie.experience of a range of IT packages such as word, excel, outlook and power point
5. Knowledge of 18 week pathways
Desirable criteria
6. Education/ Requirements Supervisory or office management skills equivalent to certificate level
7. Experience in validating patient pathways
Skills
Essential criteria
8. Keyboard skills to access and input to data systems; Competent in Microsoft Office products.
9. Competence with a range of IT packages, e.g. CRS and G2
10. Understanding of Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act
Desirable criteria
11. Ability to use information to monitor processes, plan and initiate action
