This is a great opportunity for the right candidates to join the Construction, Maintenance and Facilities Management (CMFM) department within the Place Department of Enfield Council; a department with wide ranging responsibilities for managing a diverse £1bn+ property portfolio, including, offices, commercial, industrial, retail, cultural and leisure.
The post of Mechanical engineer will ensure the smooth running and maintenance of the commercial building plant across Enfield Council’s corporate property portfolio. To proactively deliver maintenance to planed schedules to prevent plant breakdowns. The candidate must also hold good record keeping on maintenance documentation for when jobs are completed and have good time management to prioritise works correctly. Experience with auditing of maintenance regimes would be advantageous.
To succeed in this role, you will have excellent knowledge on commercial mechanical plant such as Cooling Towers, Pumps, FCUs, AHUs and other mechanical plant and be conversant with CIBSE SFG 20 maintenance regime requirements. Essential Qualifications Required 1. City and Guilds 6035 Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing Studies,
1. Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing and Heating
2. BPEC Domestic Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems Certificate

Essential:
3. Experience of the PPM and Reactive maintenance of the commercial buildings plant. Working in an office environment and within a building of a similar size and age would be essential to support the buildings plant
4. Experience of maintenance programmes utilising a programme of works for planned maintenance within a team of engineers.
5. Experience of working on aged commercial plant and to planned schedules to ensure compliance and SFG20 requirements are met
6. Experience of overseeing contractors and contracted work to ensure best standards are followed.
7. Experience of working in a team to conduct mechanical maintenance and solutions for reactive breakdown works
8. Demonstrates a broad knowledge of commercial/financial acumen within repairs and maintenance
9. Knowledge of ICT capabilities to meet business needs. Minimum – MS Word, Excel and email (outlook)
10. Ability to engage, coach and motivate teams and set clear targets and expectations within repairs and maintenance
11. Experience of successfully time managing day to day task to ensure all works are completed on time and to a good standard
12. To log all works correctly and where required keep paperwork documentation of tasks to ensure good records are kept on site
13. Ability to advise the plant team and management on mechanical problems and solutions
14. Demonstrates a good understanding of the political structure and role of elected members
15. Ability to work collaboratively both with own service and across other services
16. As a regular and intrinsic part of this role required you to speak to members of the public in English, the ability to converse at ease, politely and courteously with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential and consistent with the requirements of this role
