As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Technology Control Operations team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
1. Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
2. Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
3. Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
4. Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
5. Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
6. Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
7. Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
8. Managing Risk: Findings management, uplift programs, publishing onboarding/decommissioning, metrics, resiliency, compliance, and access management.
9. Modernising systems: Data center migrations (UK, SG, HK, NAMR), public and private cloud consultation, project coordination, modernization road mapping, and change management.
10. Planning and budgeting, lifecycle management, cost optimization, productivity initiatives, and infrastructure reviews.
11. Managing Agile ways of working through Jira, including sprint planning and execution, backlog and Book of Work management, Scrum ceremonies, dependency tracking, and reporting via dashboards.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
12. Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
13. Proficient in coding in one or more languages
14. Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
15. Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
16. Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
17. Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile,
