About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and technically capable Flood Risk & SuDS Engineer to join our growing team at EPG. This role offers the opportunity to take a leading position in the design and delivery of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) and Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) across a diverse portfolio of projects, including residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments.
You will play a key role in shaping climate‑resilient, low‑impact design solutions, working closely with clients from an early stage to understand their needs and deliver collaborative, high‑quality outcomes. Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, specification, and implementation of SuDS solutions for a variety of developments
Prepare Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) in line with current UK legislation and planning policy
Undertake hydraulic modelling using industry‑standard software such as MicroDrainage, Causeway FLOW, or InfoDrainage
Produce high‑quality technical reports, drawings, and design documentation
Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and guidance, including the CIRIA SuDS Manual (C753) and Building Regulations
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, supporting delivery to agreed timescales and budgets
Maintain high standards of quality, health & safety, and technical compliance
Liaise effectively with clients, local authorities, statutory bodies, contractors, and stakeholders
Stay informed on emerging best practice, policy, and innovation in flood risk, drainage, and water management
Promote climate‑resilient and sustainable design approaches across all projects
About You
Essential Requirements:
Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
2-4 years' experience in SuDS design, flood risk management, and drainage design
Working towards, or aspiring to achieve, Chartered status (ICE, CIWEM or similar)
Proficient in drainage and design software such as AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, Civil 3D, InfoDrainage, or Causeway FLOW
Strong understanding of UK planning policy, SuDS legislation, and design standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical reports and present to stakeholders
Highly organised, detail‑focused, and committed to quality
A proactive, innovative approach to problem solving
Strong IT skills, including Word and ExcelDesirable:
Experience using Tuflow, ICM, or other 1D/2D hydraulic modelling software
Experience with 2D/3D highways and earthworks design
Experience delivering sectional agreements (S104, S38, S278, S185, S106)
Experience undertaking Strategic Flood Risk Assessments (SFRAs)Why Join EPG?
