Job Summary
Castle ward is a 29‑bedded unit specialising in rheumatology and endocrine patients; it also admits general medical patients. The role offers a chance to work in a diverse, rewarding clinical environment and develop a wide range of nursing skills.
Main Duties
* Provide health promotion and care for patients on Castle ward.
* Develop clinical skills within a competency framework and progress career goals.
* Receive induction and specialist training (including care of diabetes patients).
* Work with a mentor to complete competencies and undergo robust appraisal to support professional development.
* Support the team in caring for acutely ill patients and within the ward’s medical admission stream.

o Demonstrates awareness of current professional nursing issues.
