Street Cleansing Operative - Level 2 Salary - £25,584 - £26,835 (Grade 4) Hours - 37 hours per week, across 5 out of any 7 days. Hours of work will include regular weekend and out of hours working Contract type - Full time, permanent Work Style - Field: working in communities across the city Are you passionate about creating a cleaner, safer environment for your community? Do you take pride in your work and enjoy being part of a team? We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Street Cleansing Operative - Level 2 to join our team and help maintain our city. Role responsibilities: Perform a wide variety of tasks related to general environmental maintenance in addition to a range of Street Cleansing operations (consistent with an NVQ level 1/2 ) that include Vehicle Driving (Precinct Cleaner), Litter Picking, Litter Bin emptying, Sweeping of Hard Surface areas, Deep Cleansing, Manual Handling duties, Use of Hand Carts etc, working either alone or alongside other members of staff. Organise other members of the team in their service delivery (e.g., temporary/agency/unskilled operatives). Safely use and correctly set the full range of tools and equipment supplied by the service area if necessary, including the use of powered hand tools, light plant and pedestrian operated equipment. Maintain all necessary records, ensuring that they are complete and accurate e.g., worksheets, timesheets and other records including chemical logs and vehicle check lists where appropriate. Assist in providing effective communication across the service to ensure that client/customer requests are dealt with in a prompt, competent and safe manner, routinely reporting to the Supervisor/Manager. Role requirements: Current full UK driving licence. Emergency one day first aid certification, or willingness to obtain this certification within 3 months of appointment. To have completed manual handling training. A proactive and motivated individual who takes pride in their work. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards working with colleagues and the public. Willingness to support other Environmental Services roles when required. Knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures. Familiarity with customer care and equal opportunity policies.
