Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 4 Anaesthetic Administrative Coordinator to support the Anaesthetic Department at University Hospital Southampton.
About The Team
You will be an intrinsic member of the Anaesthetic Administration team. Your other key working relationships will be with Consultant & Trainee Anaesthetists, Care Group Clinical Lead, Medical Students, Clinical Theatre Operational Managers, Clinicians from other Care Groups and Bed Managers.
What you'll do
You will provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the Anaesthetics department (Consultant and Junior Medical staff), and Management team (Care Group Clinical Leads, Care Group Manager and Service Manager).

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
What we are looking for
* You will need to have excellent administrative and organisational skills.
* You will have office management experience, experience in a customer-focused environment and be well versed in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
* Confident to work with patients and senior clinicians and able to work under pressure.
* Able to work independently, prioritise and manage a large and conflicting workload.
Person specification
Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
Essential criteria
* As a minimum, to be educated to GCSE (or equivalent) standard, with a pass in English and Maths.
* Knowledge of business and administration, developing new procedure and practice, acquired through training or experience to Vocational level 4 NVQ standard
* Experience as a PA or Secretary in a customer-focused environment.
* Office management experience
* Well versed in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
Desirable criteria
* Experience of the NHS
* Degree or equivalent
* Previous experience of working in a busy hospital environment.
* Experience of UHS & IT systems (Healthroster, EDOCs, Oracle)
* Experience of procurement order process and maintain Trust standards for preferred suppliers
