Role Overview:
My client is seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Finance to lead their finance function and oversee key operational areas of their organization. Reporting directly to the CEO and MD, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership:
* Develop and Implement Financial Strategy: Formulate and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
* Provide Strategic Financial Advice: Act as a key advisor to the CEO and senior management on financial matters, providing insights and recommendations for decision-making.
* Financial Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, implementing risk management frameworks and controls.
* Performance Analysis and Reporting: Develop financial reports and analysis to provide insights into business performance.
* Drive Financial Efficiency: Implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and resource allocation.
Core Financial Operations:
* Oversee All Accounting Operations: Manage accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and tax compliance.
* Financial Reporting and Compliance: Ensure accurate reporting in accordance with standards and regulations.
* Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the development of budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring performance.
* Cash Flow Management: Optimize liquidity and working capital.
* Audit and Compliance: Manage audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
* Tax Planning and Compliance: Oversee tax matters including planning and reporting.
International Trade and Finance (if applicable):
* International Financial Transactions: Manage currency exchange, import/export financing, and trade finance.
* International Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with trade regulations and reporting.
* Global Financial Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks in international operations.
Financial Management:
* Core Finance: Oversee daily activities like accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and VAT returns.
* Financial Planning & Analysis: Manage budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
* Financial Controls: Implement controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
International Trade:
* Trade Finance: Use knowledge of trade finance and import/export regulations to optimize transactions.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to trade laws to minimize risks.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
* Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of financial processes and systems, proficiency in accounting software.
* Project Finance & Management: Experience in project finance and contracts.
* International Trade: Knowledge of trade finance and import/export regulations.
* Leadership & Communication: Proven leadership, analytical skills, and communication abilities.
* Qualifications: ACCA or CIMA preferred but not essential.
* Industry Experience: Experience in e-commerce or commerce, preferably in a design studio environment.
