Bookkeeper | Practice | Lisburn
Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a well-established and reputable accountancy practice in Lisburn and are actively recruiting for a Bookkeeper. This is a permanent, office-based opportunity that offers flexibility in working hours, including part-time or full-time options (4 or 5 days per week).
The Role:
1. Working as part of a small team, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for:
2. Recording and processing financial transactions for clients, such as sales, purchases, receipts, payments, invoices, and bank reconciliations.
3. Ensuring transactions are recorded correctly in ledgers and journals, following accounting standards and principles.
4. Preparing and filing VAT returns, payroll taxes, and other statutory returns for clients.
5. Assisting accountants with preparing year-end accounts, tax returns, and other financial reports.
6. Preparing for Making Tax Digital.
7. Communicating with clients and responding to their queries and requests.
8. Maintaining and organising accounting files and documents.
9. Performing other bookkeeping and administrative tasks as required.
The Person:
* Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accounting technician in an accountancy practice or similar environment.
* Proficient in using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
* Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices.
* Ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
