Manpower Recruitment are looking for an experienced Junior Sous Chef for an established College in Oxford City Centre.
The role is working Full Time, working 5/7 days, including mornings, evenings and weekends.

Overall Objective
The main responsibilities of the junior Sous Chef are as follows-
1. Ensure consistent and smooth running of food production
2. Ensure effective stock purchase, its receipt and storage
3. Ensure that working areas are always kept clean
4. Assist other kitchen staff as need arises
5. Supervise performance of kitchen staff to ensure proper activity
6. Perform other administrative tasks as will be communicated by superiors
7. Ensure that required standards are adhered to in the production and preparation of food - in quality, quantity and safety
8. Work towards exceeding customer's expectation by encouraging and promoting high level of service
9. Ensure all complaints, inquiries, and suggestions by customers are attended to accordingly
10. Give appropriate support or guidance to members of kitchen when need arises
11. Resolve possible disputes within the kitchen and report any unresolved
12. Promote good team spirit regularly
13. Ensure all dishes are prepared according to specification and served at the correct quality, portion size, and temperature
14. Partly responsible for the preparation of kitchen cleaning rosters and the supervision of cleaning schedules
15. Prepare substitute items
16. Ensure that the kitchen staff work harmoniously to ensure timely production of quality foods
17. Ensure proper arrangement and garnishing of food
18. Manage food logs
19. Monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared
20. Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training employee cooks
21. Report the need for maintenance to appropriate staff
