We're working with a civil engineering contractor to recruit a Plant Operations Lead. This role is ideal for someone with excellent organisational skills and a proven ability to coordinate people, equipment, and processes in a fast-paced environment.
You'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of internal and external plant hire operations, ensuring clear planning, efficient utilisation of assets, and smooth collaboration across teams. Supporting the Plant Manager, you'll play a key part in driving operational improvements, supporting compliance, and managing both internal and external supply arrangements.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Coordinating daily plant hire operations, minimising downtime and duplication
2. Monitoring utilisation, investigating losses/damages, and driving improvements
3. Supporting compliance, toolbox talks, and departmental communications
4. Line managing stores and hire teams, with oversight of fleet/workshop functions when needed
5. Developing supplier agreements and supporting stock control for better cost efficiency
