Engineer
Buckshaw Hospital, Chorley
Full Time – hours per week
Buckshaw Hospital is the third day case hospital to have been built and opened by Ramsay in the last two years. The new development is located at Matrix Park, Buckshaw Village, Chorley. It is an extension of services offered by Euxton and Fulwood Hall Hospitals. The Ramsay Team at Euxton and Fulwood are incredibly excited about the new hospital, not only does it provide further capacity to treat patients in and around the local area, but it develops the service model we already offer in the North West, delivering the best care and patient experience.
The role:
We are currently recruiting for a Hospital Engineer to join our team; the core responsibilities include the following:
1. Ensure legal compliance through planned preventative maintenance and reactive works across sites.
2. The provision of Engineering Maintenance and breakdown support to the hospitals
3. Provide competent Technical, Health, Safety and Environmental support & assistance.
4. Review fault logs and allocate appropriate resources to each task within area of responsibility.
5. Maintain general upkeep of the hospital and grounds
6. Liaise regularly with internal and external customers.
7. Be available for on call cover every 3 weeks.
8. To liaise with Contractors and sign permits for minor repair and replacement works.

15. City & Guilds Part 3, HNC, NCQ Level 4 or equivalent preferably in a field of engineering
16. Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
17. Understanding of Legionella prevention requirements within hospital buildings
18. Demonstrated high level of organization & time management skills, particularly in an environment with multiple, and sometimes conflicting priorities
19. Sound fault finding techniques
Desirable Skills:
20. AP/MGPS Medical Gases
21. AP/Decontamination
22. IOSH Health and Safety / Risk Assessment Training
23. L/ACOP Legionella Training
