We are recruiting for a Research Nurse who has a specialist interest in renal and who will be able to share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The post holder will be part of the Research Team delivering new and innovative treatments to patients at the Trust.
You will work closely with the team led by the senior research nurse as well as the multi-disciplinary team in delivering care to renal patients.

Main duties of the job
You will work with clinicians and other specialists recruiting patients to clinical trials and other NIHR research studies.
You will take responsibility for the coordination and management of clinical research projects, collaborating with key personnel throughout the network to ensure continued care and support for patients involved in clinical trials.
You may be required to take responsibility for the safe administration of experimental drugs and for monitoring the expected and unexpected side effects of drugs and other treatment modalities.
You will be expected to have sufficient skills to enable patients to make informed choices concerning their involvement in the clinical trials by providing advice and information and acting as the patients advocate.

Qualifications/Training
Essential criteria
* Registered Nurse
* Post graduate level qualification/courses or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of CPD and maintenance of PDP
* Willingness to undertake training as appropriate for role
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience of working with patients and families within relevant clinical areas.
Desirable criteria
* Experience of teaching, and mentoring.
Skills
Essential criteria
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work cross boundaries integrating with multidisciplinary staff
* Ability to make clinical judgments regarding patient needs where appropriate
* Computer literate with Microsoft Office software. (including word, Excel)
Knowledge

* Awareness of GCP (Good Clinical Practice)
