Personal Assistant required for 4hrs a week after school during term time & 6hrs a week during school holidays - £12.21p/h - Will consider job share. Driver not essential.
Our son is a lively, inquisitive, funny and intelligent boy who is Autistic (more specifically PDA), and suspected ADHD. When triggered he can get angry easily, and can be quite defiant, unfortunately sometimes getting physical. That said, he is significantly calmer now he is in special education and is much less likely to be triggered. His days at school include quite a lot of stimulation for him and he likes to relax at home. He loves to read or play games and is generally very cheerful. He can have some sensitivity to the things that can overwhelm him so he may like to simply read and have quiet time in his room. It is important to have a bit of patience at times but our home has plenty of space for play or quiet time. Snacks will be left out and he likes the independence of being self-sufficient, but he made need support with this sometimes.
Ideally, I would like someone who:
· has experience of working with autistic people.
· lives locally to the South Kendal area or has a driving license and access to a vehicle due to the location.
· is kind, patient and caring.
· is calm and consistent.
The support would be:
· During term time:
* 3.30pm – 5.30pm, 2 days a week (ideally Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday).
· During school holidays:
* 3hrs a day, 2 days a week (preferably mornings but this is flexible).
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21 per hour
