Fluid Power External Sales Engineer
Hayley Dexis, the largest independent distributor of engineering products and consumables in the UK, is looking for an experienced Fluid Power External Sales Engineer to cover the Southwest geography (Poole, Exeter, Redruth). The position offers an attractive salary commensurate with experience, a company vehicle, and a competitive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
* Build relationships across the branch network, providing technical expertise, knowledge and assistance.
* Visit and build relationships with new and existing customers.
* Provide technical advice and support on our products.
* Manage the sales cycle from initial contact to closing deals, including presentations and demonstrations.
* Identify and develop strategies across the geographical area to target new customers.
* Convert quotations into customer orders.
* Collaborate with the team on quotations and enquiries.
Qualifications
* Fluid power expertise and excellent technical knowledge.
* Experience working in an engineering/technical environment.
* Customer‑focused, driven to provide consistently high levels of service.
* Ability to identify and solve technical challenges for customers.
* Proficient in the sales cycle, including prospecting, lead qualification and closing deals.
* Enthusiastic, keen, and willing to learn.
* Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
* Strong communication and numerical skills.
* Strong collaboration and networking skills.
