Job Title: Mechanical Estimator

Position Overview: Seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator with a background in HVAC systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, particularly HVAC, and will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing bids, and providing technical expertise during the pre-construction phase.
Responsibilities:
* Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for HVAC mechanical systems.
* Conduct on-site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to gather input and ensure comprehensive project estimates.
* Analyze project requirements and develop cost breakdowns, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead costs.
* Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to prepare detailed and competitive bids.
* Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and new technologies related to HVAC systems.
* Provide technical support and expertise during the pre-construction phase, including value engineering and cost-saving strategies.
* Participate in bid reviews, negotiations, and presentations to clients as needed.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, City and Guilds/ NVQ qualified or any other related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical estimating, with a focus on HVAC systems.
* Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, materials, installation methods, and industry standards.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
* Experience using estimating software.
* Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
* Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) a plus
