Strategic Category Manager, Energy/Utilities – Global FMCG Brand – Manchester - £75,000 + 15% Bonus + £6,000 car allowance + wider package
This world leading FMCG brand is enjoying rapid expansion and is pouring investment into their Procurement function to turn into a best-in-class Procurement Hub. As a result, the Firm has created a new position for a Strategic Category Manager, Energy/Utilities to join their journey.
As the firm’s Strategic Category Manager, Energy/Utilities you will play a business partnering role with departmental heads, providing commercial expertise across greenfield categories spanning Energy and Utilities, whilst getting involved with other categories, including but not limited to: Chemical and Co-Packaging.
Key role involvements:-
* Create and implement category strategies for key spend areas aligned with the Business Units and Group Service functions
* Ensure procurement policy, processes and spend compliance rules are in place
* Support new product launches within the Business Units (involvement in strategic projects)
* Present key insight/updates to the key stakeholders covering data analysis & market insight in order to ensure effective planning and decision making
* Implement a supplier relationship strategy to achieve the agreed KPIs and to develop sustainable added value potential
* Carry out continuous improvement and efficiency reviews within the function and business units with defined action plans detailing accountabilities and timelines
Required experience, skills & qualifications:-
* Extensive Category Management experience (5 years plus)
* Specialist knowledge and experience across Operational Indirect categories (e.g. Energy/Utilities, MRO, CAPEX)
* Ability to turn strategies and decisions into action
* Excellent data interpretation & analysis skills
