Automation Process SpecialistLocation: ColeshillContract Length: 6 MonthsRate: £500 per day / Ltd Company / Outside IR35Following the award of a major programme, we are seeking an experienced Automation Process Specialist to play a critical role in optimising and developing a highly automated production process.This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on engineering professional to become the technical expert for a challenging high-volume manufacturing process, driving performance improvements, fault resolution, process optimisation and technician development.The OpportunityYou will take ownership of a complex assembly and packaging system, ensuring production targets, quality standards and operational efficiencies are achieved. Working closely with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives and support the successful commissioning of a new fully automated production line.This role would suit candidates from high-volume manufacturing environments including Automotive, FMCG, Food Production, Packaging or Process Manufacturing.Key ResponsibilitiesBecome the technical process expert for the assembly and packaging systemDrive system performance to achieve output targets of parts per minute and OEE above 90%Lead structured fault-finding and root cause analysis activitiesIdentify and implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologiesManage, coach and develop Cell Technicians within the business unitAct as the training facilitator for technical systems and manufacturing processesSupport machine commissioning, process trials and validation activitiesWork closely with customers, suppliers and project stakeholdersSupport APQP activities throughout the product lifecycleDevelop and maintain Control Plans, Standard Operating Procedures and associated process documentationAssist in the development and refinement of Process FMEAsSupport Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Standard Work and process flow developmentMonitor and report manufacturing KPIs to drive operational performancePresent project updates and technical reports to both internal and external stakeholdersChampion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellenceSkills & Experience RequiredDegree qualified in Engineering or a related disciplineMinimum 4 years' experience within a manufacturing environmentExperience within high-volume, high-speed manufacturing environmentsBackgrounds considered include Automotive, FMCG, Food Manufacturing, Packaging or Process IndustriesStrong problem-solving and fault-finding capabilitiesExperience of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma and structured problem-solving methodologiesKnowledge of APQP, PPAP and FMEA processesUnderstanding of IATF16949 and ISO management systemsAbility to analyse complex manufacturing data and drive process improvementsStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsSelf-motivated, proactive and results-driven approachComfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentWhat's on Offer?Day rate of £500 per dayOpportunity to work on a flagship manufacturing programmeSignificant influence on the development of a new automated manufacturing processExposure to cutting-edge automation and advanced manufacturing technologiesLong-term contract potentialWork with a highly experienced engineering and manufacturing teamOpportunity to make a tangible impact on a major programmeApply NowIf you are an experienced Automation Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer or Production Engineering Specialist looking for your next challenge in a high-volume manufacturing environment, we would like to hear from you.Apply today to discuss this exciting opportunity in confidence.To be considered for this role please either hit the 'Apply' button on this site or email your CV directly to I can also be contacted directly on.
