Street food truck manager

Job Summary

We're looking for an experienced and reliable Street Food Truck Manager to run our busy festival and event food unit from April until September.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for the full operation of the truck at events – from planning and setup, to service, stock control, staff coordination, cleaning down and pack-up.

You will get 2 months training where you'll also be working alongside the owner in our second setup, where you'll be part of the team without the full responsibility of managing the entire operation.

You must be confident driving a large van and managing live hospitality environments.

About Us

We're a growing street food business specialising in high-quality sourdough grilled cheese toasties, trading at festivals, events and private functions across the UK. Our vibe is fun, friendly and high-energy, but behind the scenes we run a tight, professional operation. We're a young, dynamic team who work hard, support each other, and genuinely enjoy the festival lifestyle.

The Kind of Person We're Looking For

You're someone who thrives in busy, fast-paced environments and doesn't panic when things get hectic. You're naturally organised, think ahead, and don't wait for problems to happen before dealing with them. You enjoy being hands-on, leading by example, and keeping things running smoothly.

You're reliable, proactive, and take pride in doing things properly — from packing the van neatly, to keeping the unit clean, to making sure customers leave happy. You're comfortable managing people but also happy jumping in and getting stuck into service when it's busy.

Ideally, you enjoy the festival and event atmosphere, don't mind long days during peak season, and like variety rather than working in the same place every day.

Key Responsibilities:

* Planning and preparing each event using our event spreadsheet (stock, timings, staff, logistics)

* Driving the company vehicle to and from events (this is non-negotiable)

* Packing and organising the van efficiently

* Setting up gazebo, equipment, power and ensuring everything is safe and secure

* Managing food prep, service flow and hygiene standards

* Leading staff on shift when running the main unit

* Supporting service when working alongside the owner on the second setup

* Monitoring stock levels and preventing shortages

* Completing food safety checks and temperature logs

* Cleaning down properly at the end of each day

* Managing pack-down and return to unit after events

* Recording takings and staff hours

Full training will be provided.

What We're Looking For:

FULL UK DRIVING LICENSE

Previous experience in hospitality (street food, events, kitchens, or fast-paced service environments ideal)

Confident driver (essential – you will be driving the company vehicle regularly)

Must be over 25 years old (for company vehicle insurance purposes)

Organised, proactive and reliable

Comfortable working long, busy days during peak festival periods

Able to stay calm under pressure

Ideally based in South or West London (or happy to commute regularly)

Positive attitude and good leadership skills

Working Hours:

This is a busy seasonal role, particularly through the summer months.

Expect around 40–60 hours per week, depending on event schedules and peak festival periods. Weekend work will be frequent.

The Details:

Contract: April – MSeptember

Pay: £13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week

Benefits:
