An exciting opportunity has arisen within University Information Services (UIS) for a talented and driven Business Analyst to collaborate on the design and delivery of innovative reporting solutions for transformation programmes in HR, Finance, and Research.
This role is part of (UIS). We work collaboratively with colleagues in departments, colleges, and other institutions to provide a range of IT services to support the needs of all users at the University.
This role sits at the heart of strategic change. You will work closely with stakeholders across the various transformation programmes and play a pivotal role in defining requirements for high-quality reporting using Microsoft Fabric, helping these programmes succeed.
This role requires the ability to work effectively with technical teams such as reporting analysts and data engineers, and to support the development of access models aligned to security groups and user personas.
As a Business Analyst you will
* Collaborate with business users across transformation programmes to define reporting and access requirements.
* Work closely with reporting analysts and data engineering teams to ensure reports align with user needs and business goals.
* Support the definition of security and access models to ensure appropriate visibility of reporting outputs based on user roles and personas.
* Write and refine epics and user stories in Azure DevOps and/or Jira to support sprint planning and backlog refinement.
* Define test scripts, execute testing activities, and raise bugs where necessary.
* Document future state systems and processes, recording and prioritising future state requirements enabling a successful delivery to business-as-usual operations.
Are you the right candidate?
* You have extensive experience working within multi-disciplinary delivery teams to shape and deliver digital services.
* You understand and can apply a range of business analysis techniques and methodologies effectively.
* You have experience defining reporting requirements and working with reporting analysts and data engineering teams.
* You are confident working in Agile environments and using tools like Azure DevOps.
* You are comfortable working to tight timescales and adapting approach as necessary.
* You have a strong track record of delivering business analysis through user stories, sprints, and backlog refinement processes.
