Driving Skilled Operative (Non HGV)
Job description
You will be responsible for carrying out cleansing, ground maintenance and highway operations and, in addition, coordinate the work of a multi-skilled team in the absence of a Team Leader or Skilled Ganger.
The main duties of this role will require you to undertake
- General labouring and skilled work in relation to highway maintenance and construction.
-Use of small powered plant and equipment e.g. strimmers, blowers, road saws etc.
-Working in trenches and other open excavations including drainage and ducting work.
-Removal and replacement of damaged road signs, posts and barriers.
-Assisting in the planning of future work including notification of plant and transport requirements and ensuring adequate supplies of material are available.
-Requirement to drive as part of daily duties, along with Vehicle checks, required routine maintenance (oil, water, etc. checks) and cleaning.
- Previous experience of carrying out the tasks associated with the main duties and responsibilities
-Previous experience of coordinating the work of a small team
Ideally you will have;
-Relevant ‘Streetcare’ training as per requirements of the job description
-C.I.T.B or other accredited qualification in construction works
-Certificate in National Highway Sector Scheme 12D traffic management on rural and urban roads
-Certification in National Highway Sector Scheme 2B installation, maintenance and report of road restraint system
