Quality Engineer
Location: Slough
Term: Permanent
Salary: £42,000-£50,000 dependent on experience
My client is looking for a Quality Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis in the Slough area. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding and passion about Lean Manufacturing and will be mainly responsible for improving quality of the company's operational processes and output.
Qualifications
* 2 years experience in Manufacturing Environment
* APQP / PPAP experience beneficial
* Self‑motivated individual
* Right first time approach
* Ability to work calmly under pressure
Responsibilities
* Drive standardisation on processes along with waste elimination and continuous improvement
* Support 8D activities on parts connected to internal or supplier quality concerns
* Understanding of APQP and change point control management
* Develop and maintain quality assurance throughout product development cycle for NPI
* Responsible for control plans and QA associated to manufacturing processes which are outsourced
* Collating material compliance data, report writing where necessary
* Resolve customer issues in a timely manner
* Champion problem solving with use of RCA tools such as 8D, 5WHY, ISHIKAWA, FMEA's
* Handle internal & external audits
* Monitor supplier performance, define process parameter to ensure process capability
* Monitor output, quality & scrap rates. Improving OTD performance
* Maintain records of products and approved suppliers
* Identify, lead and participate in improvement project - member of the CI team
