SEND Teacher (full-time, permanent)

£750 - £900 per week (salary is dependent on experience and/or qualifications)

The role
A vibrant, supportive and very highly regarded special needs college in Wigan is seeking to appoint a full time SEND Teacher to deliver a post-16 curriculum to students with Autism and complex needs. Ability levels can vary considerably and a willingness to deliver more than one curriculum area is desired for the role of SEND Tutor. The college has a strong emphasis on life skills and employability as for most learners this is their last experience of education.
Requirements
The successful SEMH Teacher will have:
1. Experience working within a SEMH provision or with children who present social, emotional and mental health needs; experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour is essential.
2. A calm, consistent and nurturing approach, with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils.
3. A recognised UK teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
4. The ability to plan and deliver an engaging, inclusive primary curriculum that supports both academic progress and emotional development.
5. A flexible and reflective approach to teaching, with a strong understanding of behaviour regulation, trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour strategies.

Daily rates are dependent on your scale point, experience in role and qualifications, and will be discussed at the point of registration.
