Salary: £150 - £230 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a skilled and nurturing SEMH Teacher to join a specialist setting in the S26 area of Sheffield. This is your chance to provide transformative teaching for young people facing social and emotional barriers to learning.
Role Overview:
As an SEMH Teacher, you will be working within a specialised school or provision that caters to pupils who present with a wide range of social, emotional and behavioural challenges. You will play a key role in fostering a safe, therapeutic learning environment where pupils can thrive academically and emotionally. The ability to manage behaviour effectively, show patience, and tailor your teaching to individual needs is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver adapted and engaging lessons across the curriculum, suited to the emotional and educational needs of the students.
* Work closely with support staff, SENCOs and mental health professionals to implement EHCPs and behaviour support strategies.
* Build positive relationships with students that support emotional development and academic progress.
* Use restorative and trauma-informed practices to manage and support behaviour.
* Monitor and assess student progress, updating planning accordingly to support ongoing development.
* Promote resilience, social interaction, and emotional regulation through your daily teaching.
* Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom culture where all pupils feel safe and valued.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
* Prior experience teaching pupils with SEMH needs, or in an alternative provision/PRU setting.
* Deep understanding of trauma-informed practice, behaviour de-escalation, and mental health support.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with a multidisciplinary team.
* Confident, compassionate, and adaptable in your approach.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
