We’re supporting a fast-growing, US-backed specialty insurance business operating within the MGA market, currently investing in strengthening its finance function as it scales.
This is a broad, hands-on role working closely with the International Financial Controller, offering exposure across insurance accounting, reporting, and finance transformation initiatives.
The Role
This position goes beyond traditional finance responsibilities, combining core accounting with involvement in systems, processes, and business growth projects. It’s ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment and wants to play a key role in building a best-in-class finance function.
Key Responsibilities
* Support insurance accounting across premiums, commissions, fees, and claims
* Reconcile and review premium bordereaux from brokers and coverholders
* Assist with GWP, commissions, IPT, and settlement postings
* Support month-end close, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations
* Investigate variances and contribute to reporting commentary
* Assist with audit processes and ad hoc financial requests
* Support development of finance processes, controls, and systems
* Work on finance improvement initiatives as the business scales
* Assist with accounts payable/receivable and credit control activities
About You
* Experience within an MGA or insurance broker environment preferred
* Part-qualified (ACCA / ACA / CIMA) or qualified by experience
* Strong grounding in transactional finance and month-end processes
* Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving business
* Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
* Proactive, solutions-focused, and keen to improve processes
