Purpose:
The purpose of this job is to ensure that stock is readily available and of good quality for customer purchase, resulting in effective and efficient operation of the organization in order to generate sales and increase growth and profit margins.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure that stock is readily available for customers to purchase.
* Check the accuracy and completeness of stock received on delivery notes or invoices from suppliers against purchase orders as well as incoming transfers received from other branches as per stated SOP.
* Conduct regular stock counts against stock received as per invoices, delivery notes, or incoming transfers.
* Check barcodes daily when receiving stock and report irregularities.
* Perform daily floor walks in the mornings per department and communicate regularly with merchandisers to replenish shelves/stock. Immediately report gaps to the Stock-Coordinator who will address the matter with relevant stakeholders to improve performance.
* Assist in marking and packing in the storeroom. Check if stock is sorted, marked, and packed according to Department or supplier standards for easy tracking and improved performance.
* Participate in perpetual stock takes.
* Perform any work-related tasks delegated by your superior.
* Ensure all invoices reach the Admin department in a timely manner.
* Ensure all incoming transfers are logged and distributed.
* Log discrepancies in shorts and over books daily.
* File all transfers and paperwork appropriately.
* Comply with Health & Safety standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
Requirements
* Matric or equivalent qualification.
* Candidates without Matric but with a minimum of NQF Level 3 Stock Management course (54 credits) will be considered.
* At least 2 years of experience in the industry.
* At least 2 years of experience in stock-related functions.
* Minimum 2 years in a similar role.
* Effective communication skills (verbal and written) at all levels.
* Ability to handle pressure.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Internet, E-mails, Word, Excel).
* Good time management skills.
* Numerical skills.
