As part of our continued growth, we’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Pastoral Support Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at Syon Manor College, a specialist post-16 provision for young people with Autism and complex needs, located in Middlesex.

About the Role

In this vital role, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide high-quality support for our students, ensuring they are able to access learning in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment. You’ll be part of a passionate team dedicated to helping every learner thrive.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support subject teachers and tutors to deliver outstanding educational experiences for all students
2. Help implement education policies and procedures to ensure consistency and best practice
3. Provide individual or group support to students, helping them engage with the curriculum as independently as possible
4. Promote students' physical, emotional, and educational development in line with company policies
5. Assist with the organisation of classroom spaces, learning resources, and student groupings to support a stimulating learning environment
6. Use, store, and maintain equipment responsibly, reporting any issues promptly
7. Adapt support strategies to meet the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

What We're Looking For

8. Experience supporting students with Autism and/or Special Educational Needs (SEN)
9. Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour
10. A proactive, empathetic, and student-focused approach
11. Excellent communication and teamwork skills

About us

Syon Manor College is a new post-16 provision for young people with autism and complex needs. The college will offer a broad curriculum of academic, vocational and life skills learning including BTECs, GCSEs, Functional Skills and ASDAN accreditations which will work towards Employability or Independence and Duke of Edinburgh qualifications.

For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. We are a leading provider of education for neurodivergent young people and young adults. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are leading our sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in our care.

We reserve the right to close the vacancy early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.

*You’ll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, giving you more time to do the things that make you happy. 4DWW is subject to successful completion of probation and is not a contractual benefit
