A supportive and welcoming primary school in Ealing is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a child in Key Stage 2. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with children who have social, emotional and mental health needs, particularly those who may present with challenging behaviour.
This role will involve working 1:1 with a pupil in KS2, providing tailored support to help them engage in learning, develop emotional regulation skills, and build positive relationships within the classroom environment.
The Role:
SEMH Teaching Assistant supporting a KS2 pupil on a 1:1 basis
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Supporting the child's emotional wellbeing and behaviour management
Helping the pupil access learning and remain engaged in lessons
Creating a calm, structured and supportive environment
The Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience supporting children with SEMH or challenging behaviour
Confident, patient and resilient approach
Experience within a primary school setting preferred
Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
