The Children’s Safeguarding Team shares that passion. We offer a Safeguarding service for children from birth to 18 years, providing guidance, supervision & training to all staff at UHSussex.
Daily duties will involve managing safeguarding concerns & referrals, advocating for vulnerable children in contact with the Trust. You will collaborate with local Safeguarding Partners to ensure the best possible outcomes for these children.
Main duties of the job
* To communicate effectively with children and families
* To have responsibility for the scrutiny of all paediatric attendances to the hospital urgent care settings (Emergency Department and wards)
* To undertake liaison with health care professionals and partner agencies and maintain effective processes
* To escalate concerns in accordance with the trust and multi-agency guidance
* To participate in the organisation and delivery of safeguarding training for clinical and non-clinical staff across the Trust
* To support the Named Nurse and wider team members in issues relating to safeguarding children
* To foster and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders in relation to safeguarding children
