Role Overview
Facilities Manager based in London, responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and upkeep of our network of over 20 nursery sites across London.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate maintenance works across multiple sites and balance priorities according to urgency
* Carry out property inspections, log issues, create proposed schedules of work and coordinate with our Property Director
* Ensure all nurseries are adequately supplied with stock and resources
* Ensure Health & Safety regulations are adhered to
* Assist with nursery refurbishments
* Maintain, upkeep and monitor all compliance services and inspections
* Serve as the first point of contact for maintenance issues, providing timely and professional communication
* Lead on Kido’s sustainability efforts in partnership with our Sustainability Champions across all nurseries
* Manage utility providers across the group in terms of monitoring usage & cost
* Budget and invoice management
* Support, lead and mentor the in‑house team of two handypersons who report to you
* Manage stakeholders, including nursery teams, Property Director, Handypersons and external contractors, to ensure coordination and common objectives
* Inspect works carried out to ensure that Kido standards are maintained
* Work alongside supply chain partners to secure high‑quality service and value for money
* Maintain flexibility and contactability with nurseries open long hours
Qualifications
* Passion for excellence in property upkeep and maintenance
* Entrepreneurial drive and mindset
* Knowledge of mechanical and electrical services preferred
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to juggle multiple stakeholders and prioritize efficiently
* Exceptional organisational skills
* Strong decision‑making ability
* Adaptable and open‑minded outlook
* Full UK driving licence and own car with insurance for business use
* BA degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Property/Real Estate/Facilities Management) preferred
* IOSH qualification beneficial
