The Role
We’re looking for a motivated and detail‑driven Bookkeeper to take responsibility for day‑to‑day transactional finance across two businesses. This is a hands‑on, office‑based role where accuracy, organisation, and proactive communication are key.
Working closely with our Group Management Accountant, you’ll support bookkeeping, invoicing, purchase ledger, reconciliations, expense processing, and reporting tasks, helping to ensure smooth financial operations across the group.

Key Responsibilities
1. Undertake daily bookkeeping and transactional finance tasks
2. Raise and issue sales invoices and credit notes
3. Carry out credit control activities to ensure timely income collection
4. Manage purchase orders for suppliers and subcontractors
5. Track expenditure against purchase orders and budgets
6. Reconcile company bank accounts and credit card statements
7. Process cross‑charging between group businesses and prepare related invoices
8. Manage staff expenses and ensure policy compliance
9. Prepare monthly and quarterly journals
10. Support expenditure and cashflow reporting
11. Administer quarterly rent and service charge income
12. Respond to finance‑related queries from internal colleagues
13. Liaise professionally with customers, suppliers, and partner businesses
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
14. Minimum 3 years bookkeeping experience (Ideally)
15. Ability to analyse financial data and interpret key information
16. Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills
17. Confident communication skills and a helpful, supportive manner
18. Good IT literacy, including Excel, Microsoft Office and accounting systems
19. Experience using Sage and/or Xero, with a willingness to learn other software
20. Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and work independently
21. AAT part‑qualified ideal, though all applicants with strong experience will be considered
22. A proactive and collaborative approach to working within a small team
