About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to come and join our Information Services Operational Technology Team as an OT Networks and Security Engineer. Youll be working with the OT and SCADA Team to ensure the effective day-to-day operation of the NWG OT network infrastructure and services.

Were looking for you to work closely with the OT Technical Consultant to design network services across our OT Platforms and to be responsible for leading the implementation of these designs to the OT Platforms, working with the SCADA, OT, Network Engineers and Maintenance Technicians.

Were looking for you to share ideas to promote common approaches to strategy, technology, process, and delivery with other engineers and team leaders in IS, along with providing resident expertise in network systems and technology.

Youll monitor and maintain our OT network, to ensuring the delivery of a resilient, highly available and secure network, along with working closely with the OT Technical Consultant to address the vulnerabilities across the estate and perform remedial activities. Were also looking for you in the event of incidents to respond and manage these to resolution whilst demonstrating a strong customer focus and excellent inter-personal skills.

The role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment across our region, so a willingness to travel is essential.

About You

Were looking for the successful candidates to have proven experience working within Network and Security roles, ideally with experience of working with critical national infrastructure preferably within the water industry.

Youll have a proven understanding of routing protocols, administration of firewalls, supporting wired and wireless networks and worked with LAN/WAN enterprise monitoring and anomaly detection systems. Ideally you will have experience of designing and implementing segregated OT Network architectures. It would be great if you are CCNP or CCNA certified too.

Knowledge of industrial networking, protocols and working alongside Operational Technology Engineers would be an advantage. To support this, it would be great if you have GICSP or similar security certification.

So thats great in the technical side of the role, but we are also looking for you to have a strong commitment to customer service, along with being at ease and effective in dealing with professionals and managers in other disciplines. Due to the nature of the role, we are also looking for someone who can work independently as well as part of a larger cross skilled team.

This role has also been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment youll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test.
