Job Objective:
As the Director – Philanthropic Fundraising, you will lead Raintree’s global efforts to raise philanthropic capital from high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), philanthropic foundations, corporates, and institutional donors supporting Raintree Foundation's work.This senior leadership role will be responsible for building and executing a strategic fundraising roadmap that enables Raintree Foundation to scale its impact. You will focus on identifying, cultivating, and stewarding donor relationships and representing the organization across relevant platforms to expand its visibility and donor base.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
* Partner with the Founder and Board to define long-term fundraising objectives and strategies.
* Develop and execute a high-impact philanthropic fundraising plan aligned with Raintree’s mission.
* Represent Raintree Foundation in external forums, philanthropy networks, and donor ecosystems.
Donor Development & Stewardship
* Build and manage a pipeline of major donors, foundations, and CSR partners.
* Lead donor prospecting, cultivation, proposal development, and relationship management.
* Maintain ongoing stewardship by ensuring timely and meaningful donor communications and recognition.
Campaign Management & Collaboration
* Design and implement thematic and regional fundraising campaigns with internal teams.
* Liaise with the communications team to ensure the creation of compelling fundraising content and messaging.
* Collaborate with program and finance teams to align donor expectations with project reporting.
Monitoring, Reporting & Database Management
* Oversee donor CRM and database management, tracking interactions and progress.
* Prepare donor reports, case studies, financial updates, and impact summaries.
* Monitor fundraising metrics and adapt strategy based on performance data.
Event & Engagement Planning
* Organize and participate in donor engagement events, site visits, and virtual briefings.
* Facilitate opportunities for donor interaction with the field teams and program beneficiaries where feasible.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising, donor development, or major gifts roles in the non-profit or development sector.
* Proven success in securing large philanthropic gifts or grants from international donors.
* Strong understanding of fundraising strategy, relationship management, and donor expectations.
* Legally authorized to live and work in any Schengen country.

* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Excellent interpersonal and networking abilities.
* Strategic thinker with a donor-first mindset.
* High level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical conduct.
* Proficient in donor management systems and MS Office tools.
Travel Requirements:
* Willingness to travel regularly across Europe and to India and other regions for donor engagements, events, and program site visits.
Languages:
* Fluency in English is mandatory.
* Additional European language proficiency is a plus.
