We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-driven Buyer to join the Procurement team at their Farnborough site. This is an excellent opportunity for a Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a genuine impact within a world-class aerospace manufacturer.
About the Role
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing purchasing activities across directed source, subcontract, and intercompany supply. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure the on-time delivery of high-quality materials, supporting production and customer programs.
Key Responsibilities
* Review MRP demand and raise purchase orders, expediting parts where necessary to maintain production flow.
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, managing performance and implementing corrective actions where required.
* Identify and manage supply chain risks, ensuring material availability aligns with business objectives.
* Collaborate with Customer Service and Operations teams to ensure alignment with customer priorities.
* Support supplier development initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
* Report and monitor supplier performance through key metrics, including On Time In Full (OTIF) and Turnaround Time (TAT).
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* Previous experience as a Buyer within a manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred).
* Strong understanding of MRP systems and supply chain management principles.
* Proven ability to drive supplier performance and meet operational targets.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
* A proactive and organised approach, with strong problem-solving ability.
* Ideally, CIPS qualified or currently studying towards Level 4 or above.
* Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables).
* Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel domestically and internationally when required.
