Full time, Permanent contract (Flexible/Hybrid working offered)
About the role
As part of BDP's award-winning interdisciplinary practice, you will contribute to the development of comprehensive and integrated design solutions that reflect our reputation as a leading collective of architects, designers, and engineers. Working closely with colleagues across multiple disciplines and studios, you will help deliver environments that are innovative, sustainable, and people focused.
As a Senior Interior Designer, you will be actively leading all design stages with integrity, presenting to clients and stakeholders, including blue-chip organisations, and championing design quality from concept through to completion. You will collaborate with our growing Manchester Interiors team and a wider community of more than 50 design professionals, helping to influence studio direction and drive forward a new wave of ambitious, high impact projects.
You will bring exceptional design skills and extensive experience gained within respected design firms, with a strong track record in one or more of the commercial, retail, healthcare, or education sectors. You will have hands-on involvement across the full project lifecycle, including briefing and stakeholder liaison, concept design development, technical package production, and implementation through to onsite experience and post completion review.
You will also have excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel, PowerPoint, SketchUp, InDesign, and relevant rendering packages. Familiarity with Revit is highly advantageous, though training can be provided where necessary.
As teamwork and collaboration are central to our culture, you will demonstrate a strong team ethos, the ability to work effectively with people at all levels and from diverse backgrounds, and outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
About you
You will bring exceptional design talent and a proven track record of delivering high-quality interior environments. With a minimum of five years' post-degree experience, you will have developed strong sector knowledge in one or more of the commercial workplace, retail, healthcare, or education markets, gained through working with respected design practices.
* You will have hands-on experience across all stages of the design process, including:
* Client briefing and stakeholder engagement
* Concept development and design narrative creation
* Technical package production and coordination with wider design teams
* On site involvement, including inspections, contractor liaison, and quality reviews
* Post completion evaluation and feedback integration
Collaboration is core to how we work. You will demonstrate a positive, team focused mindset and be confident supporting, guiding, and mentoring junior designers. Strong interpersonal skills are essential; you will be comfortable engaging with people at all levels and from a variety of professional backgrounds.
