Job Overview
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Salaried General Practitioner to join our supportive and well‑established GP practice. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, safe, and patient‑centred primary medical care to our registered population.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced GP or a recently qualified GP looking to develop their career within a friendly, collaborative, and forward‑thinking general practice. Flexible working arrangements may be considered. We are ideally looking for a GP who can undertake 6 to 8 sessions per week.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive, high‑quality general medical services, including face‑to‑face, telephone and digital consultations.
* Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions and undertake home visits when clinically indicated.
* Make appropriate referrals to secondary care and community services.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical records; participate in clinical governance, audits and quality improvement activities.
* Support safeguarding and health promotion initiatives.
* Prescribe medicines following local and national guidance and review medication regimes.
* Assist with health promotion and preventative care strategies.
* Process administrative tasks such as referrals, repeat prescriptions and other associated duties.
* Work collaboratively with partners, clinicians and the wider practice team; attend and contribute to practice meetings.
* Adhere to best practice guidelines and contribute to quality improvement and practice development initiatives.
* Comply with duties regarding safeguarding adults and children, appraisal processes, revalidation and professional development.
* Perform additional duties as required based on workload and staffing levels.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Fully qualified GP
* Full General Medical Council (GMC) registration
* Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP)
* Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent
* Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
* Evidence of other specialist interest, development or training
Experience
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team
* Experience in a primary care environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication, including accurate clinical record‑keeping
* Understanding of clinical governance processes
* Knowledge of safeguarding adults and children
* General understanding of the primary care contract
* Experience of triage and effective clinical assessment
