Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) Practice Educator
We have an exciting opportunity for a SACT Practice Educator to facilitate and deliver training for our SACT nurses across our SACT delivery inpatient ward, day units and outpatient areas.
The SACT Practice Educator will join our team to provide direct clinical support, teaching and educational programmes for our SACT nursing workforce.

Main duties of the job
1. To provide ongoing professional and clinical leadership to the nursing team and deliver evidence-based care as part of the wider multidisciplinary team.
2. Responsible for training and assessing nurses to become competent and maintain skills in the administration of SACT for the treatment of malignant disease.
3. Leading and providing subject expert input to SACT policies and procedures, leading on the development of these where necessary.
4. The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care and procedures, for which they are competent to practice, without direct supervision.
5. Work collaboratively with the Pevensey Ward Matron, Clinical Matron of the Judy Beard Day Unit and Pevensey Day Unit, and the wider network to provide a SACT service for the acute Trust.
6. The post holder will have responsibility to monitor the coordination of training and education in the oncology and haematology services, including wider teaching in acute medicine alongside acute oncology.
7. The post holder will be expected to work at least 3 days clinically per week on the SACT units / Pevensey Ward as part of their role.
8. The post holder will regularly administer SACT, and lead and develop nurse led clinics alongside the Lead Oncology Nurse and be involved in the assessment of patients prior to the administration of SACT.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse
* Evidence of CPD at Masters Level
* UKONS passport or equivalent
* Maintains ongoing clinical competence in field
* Achieved or working towards Masters level programme in Cancer nursing/advanced clinical practice or relevant subjects including independent prescribing, advanced assessment, clinical reasoning, leadership, research. For example, Accredited administration of Chemotherapy/SACT specific course achieved at degree or masters level.
* PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience
* Significant post registration experience, with proven experience in Haematology/oncology care.
* Relevant extensive experience administering chemotherapy/SACT on a Haematology/Oncology unit/ward.
* Leadership and Management experience.
* Multi-disciplinary teamwork and team management.
* Implementation of evidence-based practice.
* Standard setting and audit
* Clinical risk management
